The Experimental Station is a 500m2 experimental orchard in Amsterdam West which includes a greenhouse. The location is currently being developed into a garden that offers space to artists, designers and biohackers for experiments of any duration. \\
Experimental Station:\\
The garden is inspired on experimental stations as they existed until the early 90s, when research and development of fruit varieties and growingmethods were undertaken as a public service. These centers have been privatised and the knowledge that is being developed is patented. Zackery Denfeld of [[http://genomicgastronomy.com/|the Center for Genomic Gastronomy]] is currently writing a vision-statement on what the current role of experimental stations could be.

Besides urban fruitgrowing we focus also more broadly at urban ecology, restoration ecology and artistic expression related to the living environment.
